About Me

I scribbled my first poem at eight years old. It was about my adoration for the color purple, and my second grade teacher gave me excellent notes.

Coming from a family of readers, I discovered the influence of words relatively early and fell in love with writing. These days, I seek to use this power for exploration and introspection.

I have been published internationally, with my work appearing in various journals, magazines, and chapbooks. To read these pieces, look at my Published Works page.

In 2014, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Virginia Commonwealth University with a B.A. in English and a minor in Creative Writing. In 2015, I earned my Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification. Though I have held a variety of jobs, I currently teach English to children and adults in Santiago, Chile.

When I’m not teaching or writing, I spend my time hiking, exploring  new places, and reading books of all kinds. To see what books I recommend, look at my goodreads page.

I’m always happy to collaborate with fellow writers and artists. Feel free to send me an email about anything you’re creating.
